Short Squoval vs. Short Ballerina Press-On Nails

By Fine Point Nails · November 1, 2026

Quick answer: Fine Point’s short squoval sets have a softly squared outline; our short ballerina sets have a more tapered silhouette. Choose the shape you like, but confirm the exact design, size and product photos before buying.

Short squoval: softly squared

Squoval combines a mostly square tip with softened corners. It is the most common shape in our current range and appears in designs such as Midnight Nebula, Petal Kiss and Cosmic Coquette. The design can feel understated or bold depending on its color and embellishment; shape alone does not determine the look.

Short ballerina: a tapered outline

Our short ballerina designs narrow toward a flatter tip. See Gallery-Pop, Chartreuse Dream and Matcha Muse for different takes on that outline. Compare the gallery images to see how it looks on the hand as well as in the tray.

Check the individual product

These names describe the general silhouette, not a universal fit rule. The exact width of each tip and available set sizes matter more for comfort. Review the Fine Point size chart, then use the size selector on the product you want. Some size options may be unavailable even when another design in the same shape is in stock.

Not sure? Choose two designs you like and compare their shape, color, size availability and on-hand images. If your measurements do not fit a set neatly, contact us before ordering.
