Quick answer: Never pull or force a firmly attached press-on. Follow the removal instructions for the glue or adhesive tabs you used, loosen the bond gradually, and stop if your natural nail or surrounding skin hurts.
First, identify the adhesive
Fine Point kits commonly include glue and adhesive tabs. They do not release in exactly the same way, so use the directions provided with your adhesive. If you used a different brand of glue or tabs, follow that product’s removal instructions rather than assuming the same steps apply.

A gentle removal routine
- Check the edges for a tip that is already lifting naturally. Do not use a sharp tool under a firmly attached nail.
- Follow the adhesive’s instructions to soften or release the bond. Warm, soapy water may help with some adhesives; a little oil around an edge may also help loosen some tabs or glue. Neither method should be forced if the nail is still secure.
- Ease the press-on away only when it moves comfortably. If it resists, repeat the loosening step or use the remover recommended for your adhesive.
- After removal, clean and dry the natural nails. Let any tenderness settle before another application.
Do not force it: Pulling a press-on that has not released can damage your natural nail. If you have pain, redness, or a nail injury, stop and seek appropriate professional advice.
Can I wear the same set again?
Some handmade tips can be worn again if they remain intact after removal. Reuse depends on how they were applied, removed, cleaned and stored; damaged or heavily soiled tips should not be reused. See our cleaning and storage guide before your next wear.
